Hideaki Sorachi, mangaka of Gintama, will be the next artist to participate in the DRAGON BALL Super Gallery Project in next month's Saikyo Jump Issue #3 2023.
Gintama taught me that you don’t need anime arcs to be incredibly long in order to deliver great world building and character development. A testament to Sorachi’s ability as a writer to accomplish so much in arcs that were usually less than 15 episodes.
This year I always wondered about the sky and stars and found Skye and lappy from up above and I made a little gift for them this christmas!!

I salute both Sorachi and every animator who worked on Gintama for making every character so expressive.
Sorachi has such a unique attachment to all his characters that it's just so beautiful to see.

Sorachi is so brilliant at is setting up and exploring family dynamics whether they are blood related or not and how fraught they can become. Kaumi and Kagura’s journey is a brilliant example of this. Their character journey together is also one my favorites in the entire series.
On the back cover of Gintama vol. 49, Sorachi talked about reintroducing Ikumatsu into the manga after a long time, whom he thought he introduced only previously when in reality, she has been absent for over 30 volumes (Her last appearance being in Volume 13, Lesson 108).
