So I'm not kidding when I say Gokurakugai and Gachiakuta WILL be the manga pickups of 2023. The former is already licensed via Viz and debuting tomorrow on the Shonen Jump app. I am SO hype for official translations of Gokurakugai...you have no idea

this scene in the eng dub is so cute... the implications of rei talking abt them and mina silently filing that info away for later so she can surprise rei one day....... god bless viz media

The Viz Dragon Ball Z logo is unbelievably ugly

The Vision!

The Viz has a style all his own!

Visually appealing or visibly off-putting?

Viz will release One Piece volume 104 "Shogun of Wano, Kozuki Momonosuke" on Nov. 7th.

I applied the Viz translations to the first eight pages of the kanzenban release of the first chapter of Dragon Ball. The Viz versions of the chapters grey out the colour.

I never realised that the Japanese and the English release for some JJK volumes were so different in tones/saturation (?) , I don't know if it's jjk exclusive or viz changes the tone for every other series they are incharge of publishing.

Artbooks are fine & all but can we please get more guidebooks & fanbooks for series other than FMA, Spy x Family, MHA or OP Viz?
Ik they’re tedious to translate but I’d love to own these in a language I can actually read.

CH60 Viz Media translation.
Jagi & Amiba worked for Raoh. Not sure what Jagi contributed but Amiba definitely did. Anime EP43 doesn't elaborate beyond this one line.

Well out of the Viz announcements I’ll only be picking up these titles. Though I am excited about these 2 shoujo titles I’m still a bit disappointed with how predictable they were and how the majority of the viz licenses were activity/colouring books

In parts 5 & 6 of Hyoe Narita's essay about the early days of manga publishing at VIZ, he recalls having to do 2 versions of the Evangelion manga, flopped and un-flopped -https://t.co/BvQLYseSii | https://t.co/pILX8T6PWu

Less likely but still likely Viz licenses.
Cold Game just screams Shojo Beat, I’d be surprised it’s not under them.
And Liar Game still not licensed in English is a bit odd isn’t it. But Alice in Borderland is doing well.

I have a list of what I hope to see licensed/in print but knowing Viz, I’ll be surprised if none of these 4 titles get licensed/physical copies.

Back in 1996, why was Narita shocked that Ranma 1/2 was VIZ Media's bestselling series?
"It had a circulation of 10,000 copies, with which the staff was overjoyed. Back in Japan, I was taught to “aim for 1,000,000 copies!” also, each volume way more expensive ($16 vol vs ¥400 ea)
