@BreddaJoe this isn't foreshadowing for Goku using this technique, he trained on yardrat years ago and never used this technique before this point which makes it contrived if anything and this isn't the first time this has happened in DB ( example: trunks learning the spirit bomb )
The story could go like this….
Goku is training with Uub in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber while Vegeta is on Yardrat or some other planet training to find a form that will finally defeat Goku
The Miere (Original alien race, look like rabbits)
Yadira Noelle (Owner of stand [Joy Division])
Yasero (Brench/Yardrat hybrid, son of Oma and Boe)
Yosa (Niece of Shu, member of Neo Pilaf Gang)
Fortunately, Goku arrives in time to take on the increasingly power-bloated Saganbo, who eventually eats more of Moro’s energy than he can stomach. Next Goku faces Moro himself. He screws up and loses. Vegeta takes his place, finally putting his Yardrat training to the test.
After Jaco sets the two month time limit, Goku and Merus continue training in their off brand time chamber, while Vegeta keeps plugging away on Yardrat (dealing with some Moro goons in the process). Nearly two months later, Merus prepares to spar with Goku one last time, but…

Regardless, let’s just stick with it being about a week into the arc when Goku and Vegeta battle Moro a second time. They screw up and lose. Even Buu is no help, since all his god power went to Uub in the divorce. Escaping Namek, Vegeta sets sail for Yardrat. ETA: another week.
Now we move to Moro's arc. Vegeta decided to go to planet Yardrat to find a way to defeat him. After learing the Spirit Control, he discovered that his power increased!. Pybala says that this is his original power, now Vegeta is stronger since his body is balanced with his spirit

Goku tells the Yardratians about his role in the Ginyu Force’s defeat (and even the part Vegeta played), thus earning their eternal gratitude. They give him some of their native garb to replace his beat-up clothes, and he begins learning Spirit Control from Pybara.
@peraperayume Freeza makes it sound like the Ginyu Force are actually on Planet Freeza, although of course this is long before Toriyama thought up Yardrat. If we ignore their anime-only departure scene, we could say Appule contacts Planet Freeza who then contact the Ginyu Force on Yardrat
