Also, Misumi Ikaruga from the game/anime A3! Act! Addict! Actors! He’s enamored with all things triangular. He’s also endearingly spacey. In my progress so far in the story, his traits are seen as a bit odd but not annoying/burdensome.
(He’s also a major comfort character for me)

Here's my piece made for the challenge! Using saturated colors instead of pastels hurt only a little bit, but making everything angular... ouchie. I had a lot of fun drawing my OC like this tho! She's a fun carnivorous alien ☺️☺️

Some design notes:
- Used the same greens and oranges to convey that grass typing.
- Slimmed the body down, made the head angular.
- Fixed the mohawk(?) I didn’t like the bun thing it does outside of battle.
- Made the tail like Grookey’s, the tuft feels incredibly out of place.

Chrom’s eyes aren’t like, outstanding, unique, or big. But I think they’re pretty in an understated way? Especially when artists draw out his eyelashes 👌
They’re a little sharp/angular. And the shade of blue is... dark and soulful.

Change the head shape right off the bat; it can be a screen face or eyes or whatever, but something more angular.
What can also help is something exotic at major articulation points (I personally recommend misfit's bubble effect for your character)

Looking at that Pandy & Retro comic again, it’s really interesting to see the contrast between ImaiToonz and Imaishi’s take on the them during Dead Leaves’ production. ImaiToonz’s being more detailed and comic book-esque while Imaishi’s was more loose and angular.
