Zuul!
With ankylosaurs potentially having long tongues, what are the odds they could have been colourful to signal other members of their species
Trying out colours for Eduard, the Struthiosaurus austriacus. Dinosaurs are weird but ankylosaurs are especially weird.
Dino Fact!
Zuul (after the Ghostbusters villain) is an ankylosaurid from Late Cretaceous North America! The species name Z. crurivastator means "destroyer of shins," after how ankylosaurs defended themselves, breaking a predator's legs with their club tails!

This #RTMPCollections tweet is brought to you by the letter N, for nodosaurs. Unlike ankylosaurs, they have large shoulder armour and long, slender skulls, like this Edmontonia. Our most famous nodosaur is Borealopelta. Art by Julius Csotonyi © @RoyalTyrrell.
@justrena I was always when growing up, a HUGE fan of the armoured club-tailed dinosaurs such as the Ankylosaurs. But now I'm older I giggle when I think of the little Juravenator, a feisty chicken-sized meat eating terror of anything below knee height.
A WIP of something. I plan to attach this to the body of one of the ankylosaurs from the Jurassic world sets. I'm a bit worried its gonna be too long, as it's hard to measure do to the body piece not being in studio.
@SerpenIllus Ankylosaurs are like living carpal tunnel syndromes if you are unlucky. It's just a sketch but this Zuul nearly killed me.
Took Wednesday-Friday off, except for time to work on this reconstruction. I hope to finish it today. I did not have nearly as much time as I would have liked to work on it (deadline approaching fast). I find ankylosaurs challenging and time consuming #paleoart #sciart #dinosaurs
Tonight! Join @VictoriaArbour and @TomHoltzPaleo as they discuss the co-evolution of Ankylosaurs and Tyrannosaurs at the ROM in Dinosaur Fight Club. Can't wait!

In case you wanted to know more about why #ankylosaurs are often preserved upside-down by @RoyalTyrrell (we also got to interview author @Jordan_Mallon about it in episode 159 - Lufengosaurus!) https://t.co/cyMFIXjYk7
Belly up: why #Ankylosaurs are always found upside down https://t.co/r1AvFbc9Dq @Jordan_Mallon @MuseumofNature @RoyalTyrrell
Ankylosaurs were dinosaurs, and glyptodonts were mammals, but both had tail clubs - a great example of convergent evolution! #DayofFacts
What I've been up to: Figuring out why ankylosaurs are usually preserved upside-down. #AskACurator @MuseumofNature
A silly #SciArt for Friday night: could there have been be hairy ankylosaurs? (Probably not.) http://t.co/imje7T2LJL
