26 - competition!

I actually had no idea what to draw for 'competition' because everything is a competition for bacteria. Every niche is in a way a competition in which one species will thrive. Have fun with it, I had fun making it!

Day 8 - Quorum Sensing!

Quorum sensing is a system in which bacteria recognize that there are a lot or very few of them around - and have a response to that.

The Pokémon Chinchou and Lanturn are based on deep-sea fish with a symbiosis with bioluminescent bacteria.

Well it looks like something else drifted away from that hydrothermal vent as well as the bacteria. Eukaryotes! They may look like bacteria, but they’re not. They have a special feature: their cell nucleus is surrounded by a membrane and they seem to have a longer genome.

Day 2: Microscopic
Dividing bacteria.

Some love to live on plants. And unfortunately, some of them also make plants sick.
For this, they speak the language of plants to help them enter the plant.

This is kinda my excuse to make a Max sick fic. he lives by the “hoe never gets cold” rule. I like that that Max is a canon air bnb for viruses and bacteria. and when their say is over, he just ipad kid coughs it out. RIP sam

'Ground substance' is the unlabelled background to most biology diagrams.
It's mostly water turned to jelly by glycoproteins and it plays a vital role in exchanging gases between cells and blood, preventing tissues from being crushed or impeding the advance of bacteria.

Painting of the red and white blood cells (immune system) being invaded and attacked from bacteria. I used paint splatter and glow wispy tools in Autodesk Sketchbook to make this painting

I draw and paint bacteriophages and bacteria. I try to put them all in my Redbubble shop! https://t.co/6m0p9dqoUD

I have a lot of phage images, how many do you need! All the phages on earth weigh the same as 100,000 blue whales and they account for 20-50% of all deaths of bacteria. Some archaeal viruses (similar to phages) can continue to expand outside their hosts.

New in this week's PDB release is this 2.4 Angstrom cryoEM structure of the heptameric light-harvesting 2 complex from purple bacteria. Solved by researchers & , published in Advances. View the structure at https://t.co/CrzO72vS0I

Last day of And with it comes its last This one on the talk of Emma Brock that works on Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus, which could be used as antibacterial agent instead of using antibiotics. She told us on how Bdellovibrio use motility to hunt bacteria..

Obviously, couldn't have animated Sponge without an animated Hoppy, courtesy of and =]

Bonus bird fact: hoopoe birds are covered in bacteria so don't hug them. Their bacterial coating protects them (and their eggs) from other, worse bacteria.

Chemical Engineer by training, and amateur artist on my free time. Currently working on my Master thesis analysing alternatives for improving the production and processing of plastics to make them more sustainable by using bacteria. Art by @/AntiTachyon and @/me https://t.co/kcMduHNcIt

Subbytech cares about our customers. When packed (using gloves and masks) our orders are sprayed with this mist which helps kill off any remaining bacteria. Shop with confidence with https://t.co/fFlML3PVnx

Bacteria art. "Asymmetric mirror world". The gel is folded in half and the distribution of bacteria on one side is transferred to the other half of the gel. After the transcription, the left and right patterns of bacteria become asymmetrical with growth of bacteria.

A new dragon for my next book, painted with for iPad.
“This nocturnal dragon has sacs beneath its eyes containing bioluminescent bacteria. Flaps of skin allow these sacs to “blink”, signalling to other nearby dragons”. (1/2)
