Feeling pretty good about this ink wash approach. Just a fountain pen, water brush and pencil. The ink is semi-water resistant so it can hold its lines while still being able to blend. Darker tones are achieved by directly pulling ink from the fountain pen into the water brush.
@GamesLiek I tend to use harsher lighting in pieces but generally if its lighter then I move the colour wheel slider upwards and if its darker then i move it down, only by a little, if you want to smoothen it then use a blend. experimenting with what suits you is usually the best way tho.

Now I don't work with pastels a lot, as I find them messy and difficult to blend. Though there have been times where I want to use them. Which is why this drawing exists.
