Hmm, experimenting with gradient maps for some color blending, and my brain is exploding. It's my usual color palette, but more vibrant maybe?

At war with crayons. As a child I was so very frustrated with my wax crayola crayons - the white background paper bits that wouldn’t take the colour, the poor pigment load, the poor blending, impossible detail…Is there a more frustrating art media? Yes actually- the dried up…

Progresso
My hand hurt from all this fucking blending, but taking this shithead back to his 4U roots was a good choice.

Trying to practice more on shading and blending, so here's another ref drawing! I like to think I've improved somewhat lmao

Nostalgic Nebulas

Nostalgic Nebulas embraces the feeling of nostalgia we all have and uses color blending, shapes, and lighting to portray a sense of recognition from the past. 🚀🤯

New art! 🐶🐕
Tried out blending, skin tones, and different highlights.
Here is an art of an adorable shib!

P.s. I'm bad at hands 😅

Little drawing I did just now. Practiced some blending, I think I did ok

ooooo that’s epic! i always try to go overboard with watercolor brushes & blending, this zoomed in ss is an example but i never end up doing that well 😹 so there’s just more things that i’ve gotta try with it. thank u for ur time it was very epic

Some more random painting practice this evening. The brush I was using really wasn't fun for getting good blending, so I think I've learned I should stick more to what I enjoy, rather than what some other artists seem to be using...I think it still came out okay though

Thank you!!🙈🥹

⬇️ I would try a semi-opaque brush with the eye dropper tool.😊 I make “steps” to reach color A to B - varying your pen pressure can help with this too. For smoother blending, I use a mixing or smudge brush with my main brush. Hope this helps!😚

Next up Layer Blending, the goal here is to seamlessly blend the shadows and highlights from the Hillshading into the Colour Plate base.

1 - Hillshade with a Z-factor of 3
2 - Bottom Landscape of Land/Water Colours

Both of these images were generated from identical files (other than the background).

The difference is dynamic coloring & blending, whereby the choice of background is affecting the colors for multiple other (non-background) layers.

None of the source images are colored.

Coloring, layer blending, and light experiment. Turned out pretty good.

Now, the only thing I hope for is that the process sticks to my head for a bit longer. X'DDDD

- I'm back on again at last - trying to use the technique I use for cars & planes on people now - splodging colours down (which is as far as I've got so far) - next step - lots of blending, then skin texture & hair.

[#PepperdalePlanet] Trying to refine my face paint designs for the character designs. Initial art is coming out a little terrifying, but that is was the refinement process aims to fix. With finger-blending, you can do good, effective shading though. (This is Ernie, a rabbit).

“RIP & TEAR » 2022
Oil scouring, on Kraft paper. Preoccupied by images and news from friends of events in the ripping wasn’t intentional, tearing and collage seemed the only way to make
