As we launch our ‘Bursary Now Appeal’, today we are looking back through the MGS archives and exploring the philanthropy that has been at the heart of our values for more than 500 years. We hope that our new appeal will continue to safeguard bursary places for future pupils.
The Manchester Grammar School has launched its latest appeal to ensure the School can continue to offer means-tested bursaries to bright young men. The 'Bursary Now Appeal' seeks charitable support to help safeguard bursary places for the next generation of pupils.

No fees to attend, bursary, and when I was going through a very difficult time with a dad who had just left and a single mum who worked two jobs I got £800 from the uni hardship fund. As an army brat who’s lived in a lot of different places - you don’t get that everywhere.
