So I just finished reading Tales of the Jedi, the complete series, and it was bloody fantastic. The saga of Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider was incredible, they are truly fantastic characters! I highly recommend this series!

From Tales of the Jedi: "A lightsaber is not only a weapon of war... it is one of the ways a Jedi contacts the Force." Reminds me of when Obi-Wan said "This weapon is your life!" and Vader saying "Your skills are complete." Man, I love the EU.

Because it is what made Star Wars unique. It gave us adventures outside of movies that are good enough to be them. They gave us characters and a detailed history to follow and love. It respected its characters.
