The man called HAWKEYE! - versus Gary Numan - from Giant-size Avengers no.2, November 1974 - after DAVE COCKRUM... :)
#XSpoilers Ok, #xtwitter, who else here is for Polaris’s glow up?
Also, Pepe Larraz has officially joined the echelon of top tier X-artists like Cockrum, Byrne, Smith, JRJr, Paur Smith, Silvestri, Jim Lee, Alan Davis, & Frank Quitely. Just fucking stellar stuff.

@rdauterman Here are two more favorites; one by the legendary Dave Cockrum (left) and the other by the brilliant Jenny Frison (right):
Back Issue #133: Starmen issue! James Robinson & Tony Harris’s Jack Knight Starman, The Star-Spangled Kid, Starjammers, 1980s Starman, and Starstruck! Featuring Dave Cockrum, @gerryconway, @MrGreenberger, Elaine Lee, Tom Lyle, Michael Wm. Kaluta, Roger Stern, Roy Thomas, & more.
@GoshGollyWow And I have a feeling this is Alan Dave Cockrum, it’s very familiar.
But I’m not complaining, they feel like homage, rather than swipes.
"Marv Wolfman disconcertingly pits Rear Admiral James Tiberius Kirk against the likes of Count Dracula and Frankenstein’s monster."
The excellent #StarTrek No.4 by @marvwolfman ,Dave Cockrum, Klaus Janson & @Marvel

And yeah, I considered drawing Carol Danvers in her present day CM costume, but her Dave Cockrum Ms. Marvel costume is one of the greatest superhero costumes of all time IMO. That one is far & away my favorite outfit of hers.

Remembering the late Dave Cockrum, born on this date in 1943. My first credited comics work accompanied one of his illos in Monsters Unleashed, and then he filled in with a replacement page for Captain Marvel after I was forbidden to tease Wonder Man at the last minute. Miss him!
Dave Cockrum was born on this day in 1943. Even before he co-created the New X-Men, I was crazy for his work on the Legion of Superheroes. It guess it won’t look radical today, but on the LSH in the early 70s it was. Part Adams, part Anderson, it totally reinvented the LSH. (1)
is remembering artist Dave Cockrum on his birthday.
Inks by Dave Cockrum and pencils by Gil Kane and Rich Buckler (X-Men #97).
Pages 🙂Al Williamson & Carlos Garzon, Dave Cockrum & Jeff Albrecht,George Perez & Joe Sinnott, Sal Velluto.
