Finally saw “Top Gun: Maverick”. It was exactly the dumb 80’s action flick I wanted it to be and I loved it. Point of interest: the contrived-arse mission setup was very similar to what I was using to sell this pic to myself:

i have a headcanon that phoenix's tie is made from the same fabric as miles' suit. sure, a quick glance could tell you this exact information in a fraction of a second, but why would you want to rely on that when you could instead be using contrived formulas?! #aceattorney

Also I BEG YOU to understand that what they did to the Inhumans during thet time, was a contrived way to make them the replacement of the Mutants. I don't know how people can't see that. This just rights a wrong in my eyes, cuz Kamala was born to be a Mutant.

Deus Ex Machina - an unexpected power or event saving a seemingly hopeless situation, especially as a contrived plot device in a play or novel.

The song’s name makes sense…Kirby’s a Deus Ex Machina Magnet at a baby’s age! #Kirby

Three Lesbians in a Barrow

"A series of contrived accidents lead to Tabithia Knight (Tabby) and her friends Trixie and Nikita ending up trapped inside a barrow!"

"Should you begin to lose heart, look to me in the stands, and I shall cheer so loud, you will wonder how you could ever have contrived to doubt yourself!"

Finished these 2 anime

Left (If Her Flag Breaks) - ...

Right (Akame ga Kill!) - TRUST ME, IT'S FLAWED... but I kinda liked it?! It was pretty enjoyable tbh, though some elements and plot points are contrived and legitimately don't make sense... *last episode*

Captain Marvel (Mar1969) #11
Mar-Vell survives both a Kree execution and an enemy attack party, but Una is not so fortunate in "Rebirth!" Writer Arnold Drake, Penciler Dick Ayers, Inker Vince Colletta: One of Marvel’s most contrived, convoluted and clumsy hero rebirth’s. 2.5/5

@fluffyscholar Temperance was inspired both by Lightning from FFXIII and Velvet from Tales of Berseria. Her take no nonsense attitude is heavily contrived from both, as is her heart of gold under her stony exterior.

The rings in the sky might be a reference to the background in Jaco’s selfie with his girlfriend from the end of the Jaco manga. But really…why would the U6 tournament judge hang out with the anthem singer? It’s a nice callback but a little contrived.

Oh my god this paper is amazing:

- Suborbital troop transport
- Contrived backronym project name
- XCOR methane engines with Inline 5 cylinder pumps
- C-17 Fulton recovery system
- Falcon V launched subscale demonstrator

-Now I know why people like Hellen, she is more likable than Chris
-This story was very wholesome, and it had a good ending
-The military chasing Sonic was kina contrived

Oh, that’s why she lost her memories. Definitely not convenient, forced or contrived at all. Also Oda’s excuse of having Napoleon sleep the whole time because he’s “shy” makes zero sense. Like Napoleon uses Big Mom’s own soul, and she’s like the opposite of shy, even as a kid

@BreddaJoe this isn't foreshadowing for Goku using this technique, he trained on yardrat years ago and never used this technique before this point which makes it contrived if anything and this isn't the first time this has happened in DB ( example: trunks learning the spirit bomb )

I want to throw out the recommendation to read Superior Spider-Man btw.

It’s nowhere near a perfect story, and some parts are quite contrived, but it does so much for Octavius as a character. Also has some of my absolute favorite Spider-Man moments period.

❝Critics used the word ‘illustrator’ as a denigrating label. I resented the implied barrier between illustrator and painter.

Both should be measured by their competence—not by artificial compartments contrived by critics.❞

Taken 3

The storyline feels contrived. The action scenes are not as exciting as the first two. It feels as if this movie has more brawn than brain. I still like the first one out of the three.

Ngl i was worried about how oda would handle making Luffy fight a yonko but it hasn't felt like contrived or forced so I'm happy

Seeing Luffy square off with kido on a dragon is just so satisfying. I hope this is the final fight now #onepiece1025
