Since I’m on a kick, I love when a children’s character gets interpreted by artists with radically different styles but the idea of the character is strong enough to shine however the artist draws. It’s the book version of Craig McCracken’s cartoon character design philosophy.

I draw from many steampunk inspirations, but the other big inspiration was Genndy Tartakovsky and Craig McCracken's work from the early 2000s and how they stylized complex shapes. Especially Clone Wars 2003 and fosters.
