One of my earliest digital paintings (2015) and my most recent character design (2022).
Looking back through old work was wild. It can be easy to forget how much progress you've made.

2018-2022 Journey in Real-Time Character Art!
First full character to most recent one! Been a ton of fun to sharpen my 3D art chops beyond what I do in my day job. Feel a lot more joy doing art these days!

I never had a background in 3D prior to 2018 and at the time I couldn't afford a computer or software licenses to learn, I also needed a structured environment. I received a scholarship for FullS*il, this is my progress from start up until now.

2020/2022
An important milestone for me, although I'm still undecided about the direction of my artistic path (but maybe that's the point)

Couldn't find enough older stuff, but, as painful as it is to share these, I hope they are a good indication of how one's skills and sense of aesthetics can improve (or start to exist) over the years ✨
And I still plan to keep at it 💪

This trend is cool so why not
One of my first digital drawings when I decided to get serious, around 2018
And the space dude is from a few months ago, college homework
So much time passed by. I'm happy with how far I've come, still got a long road ahead of me

Adding onto this. Sometimes the progress is the most visible in the small studies we do in our spare time.

2019 vs. 2021
I believe that beach render was the second original image that I created after finishing the good ol' doughnut tutorial series.
A lot can change in 3 years!

Lol not sure why I'm drudging this stuff up, but yeah.. Might take years and years to get to a point you're happy with in regards to your skills, but it's worth every minute in the end! #CreatorJourney ('14, '15, '16, '21 in that order)
So cool seeing everyone's growth.
Here's some characters I made for my senior thesis vs my most recently complete character
I forgot how bad I was at drawing people, and rendering...
2016 vs 2022

It's definitely been a journey with many personal/mental hurdles, but I am happy with my progress and can't wait to see where I am at in another 3 years.

Enjoying looking at everyone's #CreatorJourney🤩! Here's mine so far 🎨
2017 (my first 3D) vs 2021
That desk was too stressful to make😂
#CreatorJourney is the best hashtag ever! I'm so glad for time going by, lol 😅
the first image (original concept) is from my group project for a game, during my last year at uni and the second (concept by Yoshiya) is my most recent personal project.

With each new project I hate every old one, but I'm slowly improving 🤠
2017 > 2022
2016 -> 2021
The first 3D character I finished versus a recent one from last year 😊 I've always felt my improvement journey is a little odd, like I made 3D models just fine but nowadays they look and feel more three dimensional than they used to

2019 vs. 2022 ✨
Discovered 3D back in 2019 and got hooked in a second. Crazy to see those two screenshots side by side and really grateful for all the support (and youtube videos lol) that helped me get there.

2020 vs 2022
It was rough.

Made this character for school to practice facial rigging and animation. I had just started using Zbrush and had not clue how to texture. Decided to give her another go a few years later. Still one of my favorite models I've made. Also froggie 🐸✨
