Collaboration with artists was an invaluable part of the project. Each piece of 's work was based on scientific research. From the coexisting flora & fauna to the in situ crinoids within the limestone breakdown, made our science visible.

Frosterley marble is a black limestone containing fossil corals & crinoids of the Carboniferous Period. When polished it looks like marble.
In 2014 was listed by the Geological Society as one of the best Geosites in Britain for its sandstone & Frosterley marble.
