Loch Doon Castle Canmore image & watercolour reconstruction. Sir Christopher Seton was captured here in 1306. After defeat of King Robert The Bruce's army at the battle of Methven. Seton was taken to Dumfries to be hung, draw & quartered.

Cistercian houses had a set Plan Dundrennan Abbey (Dumfries & Galloway) HS info board Newbattle (Dalkeith) watercolour 1991 and Alan Sorrell's great reconstruction of Melrose. For some reason Melrose was a backwards Plan. Even Byland in England followed the usual site Plan.

On what should have been our launch day, we have sadly decided to postpone the Festival in line with the advice of the Scottish Government.
But it's not all bad news, the GOOD NEWS is that the Festival has been rescheduled to the 9-11 October 2020 at Dumfries House.
