The ending battle with Sephiroth reminded me so much of Cloud vs. Sephiroth's fight during Advent Children. Even the positioning of some scenes look the same. A pretty nice homage to the movie.

I had a theory that Part 1 will have a brand new climactic final boss and that it will be Sephiroth, because it was suspicious he was so prominently featured in promotional materials for him to appear only in cutscenes. And this pretty much confirms this.
