Fusion reactors scream, lasers blast into the cosmos, and scientists hold their breath as the Einstein Telescope comes online.
They see planets, solar systems, galaxies, superclusters, then the silky filaments of the universe, which resemble kissing lovers.
After seeing the @NASAWebb launch, we couldn't help but be excited for what it will find!
Here's a look at what our first massive blue stars were like. Embedded in gaseous filaments, with cosmic microwave background just visible at the edges. Art by Nicolle Fuller, SayoStudio
This supernova shock wave plows through interstellar space at over 500,000 km per hour. Near the middle and moving up in this sharply detailed color composite, thin, bright, braided filaments are actually long ripples in a cosmic sheet of glowing gas https://t.co/xaEJYUozO8
I don’t have much time today but I wanted to do a quick sketch of the new South American basal, toothless noasaurid Berthasaura (description published today) with speculative filaments
Helmet base by @nomusan400, did some visor designs for it.
Pretty excited to print it out! Time to order some filaments 🐸✨
the "Filaments" project by @abwagmi is mindbending, all on-chain minting and currently whitelist only...a whitelist I am proud to call my first :)
very happy to be holding one

Astronomers Spot Spinning Filaments of Galaxies

Cosmic filaments appear to be the largest rotating structures in the universe: millions of light years wide, hundreds of millions of light years long.
That's a lotta angular momentum. https://t.co/I5BQnDlpXY
#Space: by mapping the motion of #galaxies in huge #filaments that connect the #CosmicWeb, astronomers have found that these long tendrils of galaxies #spin on the scale of hundreds of millions of light years

Mermay day 9! I always liked to draw jellyfish with their long filaments, it is very aesthetic!

I will have at least one more coming very shortly. But these all are fdm friendly, bow prints separate so you can print any size and color. They look great in silky filaments like @Polyalchemy (more pics in comments)
@king_tyranno Eyyy thanks! I've only experimented with speen filaments a few other times recently but I'd like to do it more often. I'm not convinced they were super fluffy but a few here and there for extra display probably couldn't hurt.
