I found this huge, cute sculpture at a big botanical garden in Thailand, so I turned it into a character. I'm pretty pleased with his design.
I found this statue in Thailand that was so cool I wanted to turn it into a character, but it was too different from my usual color palette and it didn't work out. I'm thinking of trying again sometime.
I also suggest seeking inspiration from unrelated things, which will make your designs more interesting and distinctive.
