I just realized I haven't really posted any WIPs from the second half of Magical Friends Ep1 (mainly because I haven't done much, but still)

for reference the fake line wobble i sometimes use is dead easy, just a random selection of 1-3 turbulent displace layers of different sizes, each one with an expression to make the evolution change in time with the framerate of the animation.

I didn't realise how little room for error the hitman strats I'm using has when you're running with a stuttering mess of a PC with no GPU. This is gonna be a mess... at least my framerate tracking program is working as intended...

The CGI still has that framerate jank I can't be dealing with but the designs look crisp, the story looks fun and give a raise to whoever is doing the colour work! 🤤😎

ended up dropping my shading and using THREE.MeshStandardMaterial -- i don't have enough time to implement my own PBR

now metals look more like metal, i have the HDR pipeline, and got antialiasing thanks to multisampled render targets. i lost a ton of framerate in exchange 😅
