Achlys, according to Hesiod, is the personification of misery and sadness. She is mist clouding the eyes of those crossing into death, and her powers are associated with poison and the venom of war.

Here goes my first entry!

Day 1:

Eos, (Greek), the personification of the dawn. According to the Greek poet Hesiod's Theogony, she was the daughter of the Titan Hyperion and the Titaness Theia and sister of Helios, the sun god, and Selene, the moon goddess.

Hesiod describes five ages of humanity: the Age of Heroes is that glorious age which most Greek myths refer to. Heroes like Herakles, Jason, and Theseus lived and died, with the age ending with the fall of Troy. Humanity of this era died and dwells in Elysium.

Hesiod's Theogony tells how Gaia (Earth) arose from the darkness of Chaos. She brought forth her equal Uranus (Heaven, Sky) to cover her on every side. Then she gave birth to the Sea, the Mountains and the Winds.✨

The awesome, battle-rousing, army-leading, untiring

(3/5) According to Hesiod, Typhon was the son of Gaia (Earth) and Tartarus, the darkest, most evil depths of Hades. Filled with Gaia's hatred of Zeus for destroying the Giants, her children, Typhon's sole desire was to destroy the gods and goddesses of Mount Olympus.

Hesiod, sort of an Ancient Greek Bible

Much time and care is taken to bring the ancients to life; to imbue modern society with the idea that they were just like us in all their goodness and evil, their intoxication and sobriety, their love and lust...

Theogony 1

“Let us begin our song with the Heliconian Muses”.

The muses were daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne (Titaness of Memory). Hesiod claims that they appeared to him once as he tended his sheep and blessed him with the art of poetry and the gift of the prophetic power.

I read the excerpt on Achlys from Hesiod's Shield of Heracles (mythology is cool) and was inspired to draw this.
