Years ago, two wild elvish twins, Qinwarek and Miranelis Autumngrove fled their childhood home on the far side of Mount Faldur, to escape the war - an overwhelming tide of goblins, hobgoblins and their evil kin. Read more: https://t.co/nU5haq6yI3

Heyo thank you for the share and thank you for the tag 💚

I don't normally work with colour 😔 but I did manage to find some red!

First, I have hobgoblins that are red!
And a fiery tiefling!

It’s asked about Goblins or Kobolds, now for a slightly less common variation on that question!

Do you prefer Hobgoblins or Bugbears? Why?

As it is, hobgoblins still carry too much of their previous, militaristic baggage, to fully reflect the new/old origin and abilities. I'd like to see what they were like before Maglubiyet got to them and remade them in his image. (Pictured: Buckawn counter from )

That being said, I prefer to reflavor the Hobgoblin's new "Gift of the Feywild" as a nonmagical "Tactical Instinct" ability, which I see hobgoblins in FR/Eberron/GH/DL reframing it as. I'd like to see a full ground-up Fey redesign of hobs' look/demeanor to match the Gift, tho.

Recently, I've started to move hobgoblins in my campaign closer to Faerie. Well, kinda, in my campaign hobgoblins are evolved from goblins who werew stranded in the World and lost some of their fey qualities. So, I like that is moving goblinoids in that direction.

Before 5e came out, I even tried my hand at redesigning hobgoblins, following my bugbear redesign. Note how the blue nose is very prominent here. (I just noticed this image is 10 years old... where has time gone?)

Mordenkainen wrote a new book just to prove how handsome hobgoblins are didn't he?
