I find Haworth a place of contrasts: ancient and modern, legendary and everyday - I've tried to say that in this picture. This is a detail from Haworth, a watercolour at the Heart Gallery in Hebden Bridge. den

The Devil's Highway - an old road, Roman for a while, between Silchester and London. Love walking these lanes, feeling the memories coming up through your boot soles. (From Green Lane at Masham Gallery)

I find green lanes fascinating: old roads weaving through the landscape - an echo of where we used to walk. (Green Lane, screen print: currently at )

Chuffed to hear my Ribblehead Viaduct has left the Heart Gallery for a new home. I've loved this place since seeing it on my first trip to the Dales (at a time when it was listed for demolition).

This chap used to look at me when I was a choirboy. He looks so sad:emerging from the leaves or being consumed?

It looks like The Working Dales, is finally going to happen soon at the Heart Gallery in Hebden Bridge. Rather fittingly this is "Ribblehead Viaduct - Storm Passing".

This is my latest take on Ingleborough - part of a new set of 3 paintings. It's an amazing hill with a Brigantian hill fort - the highest in England - on the top. Definitely worth the climb.
