The Last of the Sun. Second painting of 2022. Based on a reference photo I took of the Sparks Lake fire as it crept across lake and took over the sun that day and for many days after. I can still smell this picture!

Photos sent to us from the scene of the Durand Lake fire north of and southwest of which has forced 166 properties to now be evacuated. (Maps of evacuation areas are below). This fire is 450 hectares as of last estimate, and 1 of 84 new BC fires on Friday.
