Well the problem the larger Tri leviathans have that Mizu and Mudron dont is they drag their Entire Bodies up yo their neck flat on the ground. Not ideal for maps with lotta slopes.

we actually do see the consequence of this from when andrias loses the box: the kingdom falls into ruin and the leviathans can no longer continue invading. they had to wait until their birthright came back to them 1000 years later + held andrias responsible as heir to the throne.
