Whats some creative things you've done to spells or races for YOUR DnD characters?

For example, my Cleric's Insect Plague summons black, red, yellow and white lady bugs instead of locusts to fit his character design better.

Slater, my diabolical child, wormed his way as a main character, just as important as Adelaide. He causes crazy conflicts from the most petty of arguments. Such as a swarm of robotic locusts, or hijacking the morning announcements and playing stupid cartoons.

I dunno, I am uninspired I was right I burnt out hard... so have watchamafuggit. was just thinking of mice and locusts. one idea I like is that when it sheds its carapace it just looks like a mouse with wings.
