OTD 1603 dark days for the Irish as Tyrone took refuge in the forests around Toome with just 60 men 'shifting his lodging both night and day' to evade capture. Worse, Cormac MacBaron, Tyrone's brother and possibly finest field commander submitted to Sir Henry Docwra #nineyearswar
The Extraordinary Mosiah Chapter 2

A large trace italienne rampart was built to accommodate an expansion of the garrison but the first troops occupied MacBaron's island/crannog. Note the cadgehouses and plank reinforced wattle walls with firing loops. Though strongly fortified the position fell without resistance
Guess who wasn't doing the killing? Red Hugh O'Donnell. Maguire & Cormac MacBaron at Enniskillen, but as Crown army approached O'Donnell left to deal with a domestic issue with Scots, ordered his troops to stand down until he returned-Ford of Biscuits fought without his help
Burgh didn't think for a second he was leaving Conyers Clifford dangerously exposed out in the west at his siege of Ballyshannon. Burgh's withdrawal freed up Tyrone's blocking force. Hugh Maguire and Cormac MacBaron's troops streamed west to cut Clifford's line of retreat
Finally inked and coloured Macbat! If you don't know Macbat 64. It's a game made by @DiplodocusGames with N64 style graphics bundled with some Banjo-Kazooie vibes! The game has so much wonderful charm! Had a lot of silly fun playing it at the time so wanted to make some fanart :D
Cornwall was suspected as his Irish wife was a close friend to MacBaron and acted as envoy to negotiate the surrender of the position. It was commonly thought (& occasionally proved right) that Irish wives undermined the fidelity of the formerly loyal English subjects in Ireland.
Meanwhile it was kicking off in Longford as Red Hugh O'Donnell, Maguire & Cormac MacBaron assaulted 'Her Majesty's Castle' in Longford. Constable & wife taken prisoner & an estimated 10,000 cattle taken 'so great a of cattle to feed themselves and their hired Scots a long time'
OTD 1594 Bad day for Bagenal as Art MacBaron's son (Tyrone's nephew) with 400 troops stole the marshal's stud, taking them over the R. Bann. Irish threatened to burn Carrickfergus, should have made good as Carrick was key staging area for English throughout the war #nineyearswar

Had to draw one of my new favorite little indie games I played recently - Macbat 64: Journey of a nice chap is genuinely so cute, and it was a fun time
It's on the switch and I can't recommend it enough 💕
So I watched @Luigipunkcore play MacBat64 by @DiplodocusGames and it's actually a suprisingly charming game and I'd die for this little mans
It's like. $3 on Switch and it's An Experience I Recommend
