I think what pushes me away from phyrexians is the horror aspect. It's not my bag. If I was a praetor I think my subjects would look more like this.

Reanimation is more of an old and black phyrexian thing. The leonin would primarily have been fighting the white phyrexians and those guys just prefer to sew dead body parts together into meat golems.

and yes these are all pretty old, I really like these guys. I've done a bit of art of them over the years. They where inspired by the Phyrexians (MTG), the Silicon Lifeforms (BLAME!), the Cultist (endless legend) and also the Guardians from Destiny.
