Does anyone have a middle stage pokemon they love more than it's evolution? Mine is this plump little gentleman. I love poliwhirl. An all time favorite. He'd be the Pikachu to my Ash. Poliwrath and Politoad are great but just love this guy.

instead of poliwrath, i wanted to make a new evolution to complete the hisuian poliwag line.
the basis for polikazan’s design were dormant volcanoes and old japanese illustrations of frogs.

this design dates back from a drawing i made in school in early 2019.
here he is based on a horned toad that camouflages as a leaf. i ended up sort of revisiting the idea back in 2020, but i think i prefer the 2019 version more.
