Nurse Wilkinson worked at Baghill fever hospital, and is pictured with her dog.
The photo was taken at Maud Photographic Studio in sometime in the 1940s.

It's Here we have an adorable photograph taken in Maud's Yard in This little girl clearly loves her pet dog, although credit goes to the photographer for managing to get both a dog AND a child to sit still enough for a good photo! 😆

The forerunner to Pontefract Museum was a small volunteer run museum at Pontefract Castle. This 1892 catalogue lists 256 objects. The photo shows displays at Castle Lodge in the 1950s.

Pontefract Artist of the month is Mike Wood. He studied printmaking at Goldsmith’s College, London. Retirement has given him the opportunity and time to return to his love of painting. Mike uses a range of mediums and is inspired by the local landscapes.
