Not sure this is helpful, but my dragons are basically weird dinosaurs, often based on outdated dinosaur reconstructions, so their skulls reflect that.

Carnotaurus has a fairly evidently crushed jugal, in addition to aforementioned possible lateral compression. If one was to reconstruct the jugal and skull width closer to other abelisaurs, the “smile” fades, especially with added tissue

If you wanted a Quadrupedal Carnivore Dinosaur, the Crystal Palace Megalosaurus was RIGHT THERE.

Here’s my take; Sarkovorax. It’s essentially a modernized Crystal Palace Megalosaurus reconstructed as a speculative animal that we will never find fossil evidence of.
