One of most important football teams is named "Simorgh Alborz" (#Persian: سیمرغ البرز) after our great mythological bird.

Simorgh represents the northern provinces of Balkh, Samangan (birthplace of Sohrab!), Sar-e Pol, Faryâb and Jawzjân.
