In Mictlan, you will find many dangerous enemies, from supernatural entities that will try to drag you into an eternity of nightmares to other indigenous rivals.
However, you will also be able to observe the first host of Spaniards who landed in the Mexico of the 16th century,
@Tlatelol Human sacrifice "EXISTED" and there is proof in archeological sites and in the ancient codex with out spanish influence, it was not a massive practice like the spaniards said, but it happened, and there are studies that prove it.
Sadly, only Spaniards lived on La Palma, and nobody called me JoJo; Mum and Lisa Lisa called me 'George'....

@obscurecreacher Funny thing, when the design was chosen back in the late 80s few if any spaniards liked him, then after he was seen in action in comics/ads/pictograms, by the time the games started he was very beloved by the public. Also, since its Cubism i think it represent Spain very well.
Eyewitness Diaz describes #NocheTriste
Spaniards escape from Tenochtitlan 1/20
“Botello (an astrologer) had, four days previously, announced, that by means of his secret art, he had discovered that every one of us would be killed if we did not leave Mexico on a certain night.”
Dr. Jose Rizal was executed at Bagumbayan, Manila on Dec. 30, 1896. The firing squad was composed of 8 Native Filipino and behind them are Spaniards ready to execute them whenever they failed to shoot. Rizal last words were, "Consumatum est!” (It is finished!).

Before Spaniards distributed Indigenous girls, they were baptized. Gifts of girls as "companions" would occur many times. Diaz complained that "The finest females would be set apart (for the captains). When it came to us soldiers, we found none left but old and ugly women." 4/5
Some of the images we look at today are the side-by-side of these two prominent Spaniards as well as this: the 'big book'.
Taking a short break from sketching comics to do a quick design of a Katipunera.
For those who were outside PH, I'm not good at history but afaik, Katipuneros/Katipuneras are revolutionary soldiers who fought the Spaniards to free our country in the late 1800s.
@burnonblackhome YES!! For Nanowrimo last year I wrote a Filipino Epic Fantasy featuring a what if on the early babylan (priestess) lead rebellions against the Spaniards. I'm calling it And They Called Her Stormbringer, here's some character art of my MC Lunurin with her Harpoon off to kill a man
Half-Mexican, Half-Filipino Bandito on the run from California after a big bounty was put on his head. Was part of the Los Primos group, self-described Robin Hood types trying to protect their community because no one else did. Not a big fan of Spaniards *or* Americans at the mo.
-410, 30-40k Goths sack Rome, pop. ~500-800k
-1084, 36k Normans & Saracens sack Rome, pop. ~15k
-1527, 20k Germans & Spaniards sack Rome, pop. ~55k
Ratios:
410: ~1:20
1084: ~2:1
1527: ~1:3
1084 is the outlier, an army larger than the conquered population.
italians and spaniards calling other ppl colonizer/gringo like hello did y'all forget about this:
@yuusei_her I have otp Spain/South America (they are parents of Latin America) and I posted arts with them in amino. some mexicans said, that is bad ship because spaniards were cruel killers.
I read, that is not all true... Kinda, they had tribes allies, yes...?
(That's my old art)
A moon gay Filipino deity?? Im so so sorry for being an uncultured swine to my own culture but isnt it nice to know that homosexuality were only demonized by the Spaniards?? And wouldnt it be nice to live in a country were all LGBTQIA+ are accepted and respected??
I think my influences have been kind of stable. Aztec Empire is kind of a kickass comic about the history of the arrival of the Spaniards on Texcoco. https://t.co/sSCNk05sU4
Preview of page 58, posting tomorrow!
Teuhtlil, a Mexica governor, learns some surprising things about the newly arrived Spaniards. #webcomics
