Day subsurface scattering of 2022

I'm Rea and I go where my attention span takes me. I'm about 90% character sketch artist, I love drawing hair and subsurface scattering, and I lean on the grayscaling + glazing technique for most of my finished works.

Something simple for today, just playing around with subsurface scattering in using as always. A little bit of cleanup in photoshop and I used an OptiX Denoiser as well.

Behold! My Donut.

Thanks to 's guide, starting with Blender was a lot easier than i expected.

I wanted to have subsurface scattering on the teeth too, but it added like a day of render time. Per frame.

coloring practice with Rise Raph, attempting subsurface scattering 'cause it seemed like a good idea at the time (hand referenced from a post on subsurface scattering on James Gurney's blog)

I’m trying to make a bunch of vampire goblins because I just really like both vampires and goblins so like. Vampire goblins seemed like a really good idea!

Also this is the same drawing before and after I add bounce light and subsurface scatter!

Hell yeah not really a critique cos your style's already so well developed lol but you could add a more saturated line to the shadow especially on the face cos of subsurface scattering to make it feel more vibrant and life-like!!
