In terms of "Superheroes," these two would be it in my verse, publicly known as The Shadow Knight/Lady Emerald.

Tsukito possesses shadow manipulation and Kristy is identical to Falvia, crystal powers. They kinda share a sibling bond when Tsukito found Kristy as a kid

TL;DR, A lot of the stuff that Sonic does actually feels more inspired and in tuned with Superheroes, or Anime, not goofy, silly, slapstick cartoons, the only thing Sonic got inspired from those cartoons was the design CHOICE, not the philosophy behind it.
