Ok, I am legitimately surprised by how much I like this album. I'm surprised I didn't feature it on #TodaysAlbumCovers and I regret it now that I'm listening because it's really pretty dope with some big mid-career Beastie Boys vibes.

Look dawg, I heard you like holding your head in your hands so I put hands in your head so you can hold your hands in your head while you hold your head in your hands.🤣
The cover is Xaoc's "Proxime Mortis"

At this point Jack White just exists in his own universe like the almost photorealistic illustration of wreckage on the cover of "Fear of the Dawn". It's a really striking illustration and does a lot with a single color!

You know how I love a good, gnarly heavy metal cover. This one has a great feel. It's Agonist's "AS THE WORLD DIES". I guess as the world dies, black decaying monoliths will float below the clouds.

A truly sinister and wounded goat head with golden horns adorns the cover of Daddy Yankee's "Legendaddy" (ick). The typeface doesn't seem like a great match but the goat head is vivid and disturbing.

This cover for "parallel timeline" by slothrust looks the most likely of all covers this week to contain a passage of beguiling flute (based on the cover alone of course).

The awesome collab between pschadelic rockers Khruangbin and neo-soul singer Leon Bridges released their second EP today, "Texas Moon". It's of a piece with their earlier "Texas Sun" album cover. It's a bold, 70's-esque graphical style I love.

Cool, tasteful geometric forms and color never goes out of style for album covers. Credited to Flesh and Bone design, they've made something pleasing for Lotte Kestner's "Lost Songs".

Evidently this is straight ahead black metal and contains NO beguiling flute but it sure looks like it might from the cover, which definitely work for a sci-fi novel. It's Vorga's "Striving Towards Oblivion" and it is awesome.

Ok, hear me out. The clowns are evil, but they play metal instead of rapping. Yes. The metal is very symphonic. Sometimes it's crushing. Sometimes it's whimsical. But it's always Battle Beast's "Circus of Doom".

Another great album cover painting for MONODRAMA's "mnddrmoaa" (whatever that means!) shows a house almost sentient-ly sinisterly ablaze!

This detailed painting for Swedish prog band Astromeda's new album "These Situations" is surreal and explosive.

A surreal underwater-inspired painting by R. Serra adorns the tasteful cover of Ki Oni & Luke Elliotts "A Brief Time in Four Divisions".

The Alchemist imagines a diving board at the boundary of space in the cover for his new soundtrack to an original film, also called "Cycles". Looks like a long way down for this 1960's couple.

It may be a little late, but I'll present the winner of the "🏆Album Cover Most Likely to Contain a Passage of Beguiling Flute™ (one-time sponsored by @WFuzhi and @Kaikairos) Award🏆" to Living Room's "After The Rainbow".
#TodaysAlbumCovers
Tough Choice! Who should win the award for Most Likely To Contain Beguiling Flute?!
Living Room - After The Rainbow
or
Bill Nelson - My Private Cosmos

The Netherlands' Chill Beats record label puts out great cover illustrations, and their illustration of a lonely lighthouse at sunset makes me want to listen to some chill beats while I hang out on the cover of the "Worthy EP" by Kirikoukiri & C4C.

This incredibly angry popeye-like service worker on the cover of Fifthpower's "Spoiled Milk!" even has his EYEBALL on fire. Notably they did a custom painted parental advisory sticker, which you don't see too often.
