I've changed my workflow and tested a new method of upscaling my renders to get the best possible result without losing the original detail.
This works pretty well for what it's supposed to do.

Surface painted GP lineart, weight painted and attached to the 3d rig on top of the 3d model. I always avoided this kind of workflow, afraid that it will produce one big mess, but it kind of works. Might save some precious time in the future
