Intimate life moments lovingly remembered + idealised in intense colour w gardens + landscapes often framed through interior windows, Pierre Bonnard is my all-time favourite painter & the superb exhibition @Tate was, frankly, beautifully overwhelming. Ends 6 May. #pierrebonnard
A few weeks ago, I went to #PierreBonnard at the @Tate Modern. I can’t say that #Impressionism is my thing, but I did quite enjoy my time spotting the #cats in his various #paintings. I was reminded of @FatCatArtRu - although none of these #kitties is as pretty as Zarathustra!
I’ll probably have to touch this up later in the week. But, for now, I think I’m pretty much done my self portrait in the style of Pierre Bonnard. #mayneisland

@gilyorkart Spent the afternoon at the Grove looking at the newest art magazines and the Tate publication featuring Bonnard. Oh, so much to learn and so little time!

'He taught us about how Monet painted paths in his pictures so that our eyes would walk into his paintings...about how the shadows in Bonnard were built up with different colours. It blew our minds.' @RA_Mag on Chantal Joffe and #sargymann, ahead of a new show @RoyalDrawing.
