If anyone is curious, here is a step-by-step how I painted the Emperor of Mankind from 40K. In this case, I paint a bit similar to how a 3D software-engine would render. I start with an underpainting/sketch, and then try to hit a "ambient diffuse" checkpoint before adding light.

OneShot feels like an experiment

With how it urges the player to beat it in one run between checkpoint breaks, screws with your computer and becomes unreplayable by the end, it had the recipe of a game I play once and shrug off
