it's hard to explain but I honestly think that art, and the whole process behind making art, is something that comes from your heart and soul. Realism, expressionism, abstract, impressionism, surreal, cubism, every art and artist has is own feeling.

Albert Gleizes was a French artist,philosopher, a self-proclaimed founder of Cubism and an influence on the School of Paris. Albert Gleizes wrote the first major treatise on Cubism, Du "Cubisme", 1912. Gleizes was a founding member of the Section d'Or group of artists.
@michaeldambold Despite them being fascists, the Italian futurist movement, which developed as a response to cubism, produced some of my favorite art, specifically the work of Umberto Boccioni. I became fascinated with the way he depicted movement and speed in painting.
