Step1: Paint object, mind reflections
Step2: transparent overlay layer: Apply your lightest color on highlights & darkest on shadows & next to highlights. Use middle color for areas where other gold parts are reflected.

@Ninnifer2 That is an issue that people can have; however, one thing that helps is adding highlights around their facial features while maintaining their base skin tone. You can find examples in photography, looking at the contrast between their base skin tone and the bright highlights.

I keep changing up my art style and I can never decide what I want it to be. Gonna try for more "shapes" and less shading just flats, colored lines, gradients, and white highlights. We'll see how long before I change it again
@TheZodiacLord I wanted to throw my style into the ring, these are my for recent drawings with shading. The eyes are just to show close up eye details, Aesop is air brush shading for something easier, the bonnie pieces are just color goes here type of shading and eye highlights.
