New work mouse acquired and trying to refresh myself with Carnivores modelling with an overhaul to an older Iguanodon model (edit) of mine with a fresh and new model
Another UK dinosaur inspired fakemon, this time Iguanodon! The horn on it’s head is inspired by early inaccurate reconstructions of the dinosaur that placed it’s thumb claw on it’s head.
The Iguanodon took an awfully long time to get dressed today! @CarolineAgent @NosyCrowBooks
@kashleyenglish Tried on a school uniform but apparently this was a better fit. #iguanodonscanbeverychoosy. Happy #WorldBookDay
February 3, 1790, birthday of British geologist Gideon Algernon Mantell who was puzzled by strange fossil bones he found https://t.co/KXxcqDT5pG Famous for the scientific description of the first herbivorous dinosaur - Iguanodon - a genus of this group was named after him
It's been a slow month for sharing new art because everything I'm working on atm is embargoed or even top secret. Here's some Iguanodon #paleoart from last year to keep my feed warm.
Ouranosaurus nigeriensis
by Antonin Jury
This cousin of Iguanodon's lived in what is now Niger in the Early Cretaceous. Its sail started growing as it reached maturity and likely helped it attract mates.

Tonight we did Megalosaurus^, Temnospondyls^, Temnodontosaurus^, Iguanodon, Plesiosaurus and Pterodactylus (with Hylaeosaurus carcass) Unfortunately some of the models are in a worse state that this poor fellow.
Happy #FossilFriday! Today's featured @JurassicFDN-supported research names not one, but two new iguanodonts from the Cedar Mountain Formation of Utah - Iguanacolossus and Hippodraco! Read all about it here: https://t.co/xP5wLWR2fr
For #FossilFriday, here's #paleoart of battling Iguanodon. We're used to the idea of igaunodonts having huge thumb spikes to fight with, but they're quite small and/or blunt in many species. Iguanodon has very large thumb spikes however, and may have used them antagonistically.
