You can get away with a lot of Photoshop work, too.

Same image before and after Photoshop. Wanted a flying car in a Byzantine cyberpunk city. Got what I wanted, but had too much junk/random crap/floating objects that didn't make much sense. Some Photoshop fixed.

Now this is MUCH better. This is at that 95% completion where I can take it into photoshop. His shoulder muscles aren't right, and his hand is backwards-gripping the weapon. But I can manually repaint this.
