I added an update for my oldest creature. The Saturiap is a herbivore with an ostrich like body, the males can have colors while the females are mostly brown to hide from predators.
I think the new design is so much better in so many ways haha.

day 12! This is a Bretulbee. Hand-sized bioluminescent insects, they burrow in soft soil and eat things such as ants and worms. Their unblinking gaze unsettles would-be predators. Eerily resilient. I hate them.

Pooka don't have any natural predators. They eat what they want. They go where they want. They live in your walls. WE GOTTA GET RID OF THESE POOKA GUYS!

While a normal individual will hide, Zenith Taikun Zamuza keeps itself exposed at all times since it knows it can defend itself against predators. From its pincers developing over the years, this individual has become both stronger and deadlier.

Happy to those scientific researchers unafraid to pursue the depths of zoological discovery... even if it unleashes prehistoric apex predators. by & 🦈https://t.co/fn6u4l21Qm

Today's Pokémon is sand snake. It stores sand in it's neck sack and shoots it through it's nose to blind predators. In the confusion it burrows away!

The Burgess Shale, 508 million years ago. A huddle of Canadaspis perfecta cling to the side of a small muddy slope, avoiding the gaze of larger predators.

Inspired by a diorama from the Seodaemun Museum (thanks )

Pisciraptor lives in Titans swamps, they walk on shallow lakes with their long legs and hunt fish.
Even though they have passive lifestyle, they are the fastest land creature there is, probably to run from larger predators.

The killing bite of felids came from powerful neck-muscles. Detailed analysis of Machairodus aphanistus' cervical anatomy sheds light on the early evolution of these successful predators. Out now in our Jan issue! https://t.co/FzwnbNaQxS by

It's not like Jasper is into it or anything, ya know, the 'company' of predators. He's not weird you're weird!

Truffle is a very sleepy snail. They sleep a lot even when they're in danger, because their shell is made from and filled with nightmares in order to ward off predators. Truffle is known to sleep for 18 hours a day, sometimes with their eyes open. The other 4 hours is for eating.

Queso's feathery body allows him to glide seamlessly through the water, as if he's flying. He moves fast in order to both catch prey and escape predators. He drifts from one sea to another, but he likes to visit Fonden's Lollop Island to see tourists and dine from time to time.

Did you know…? Bitter almonds contain cyanide, which is probably part of the almond’s defence against predators. Consuming a handful of bitter almonds is likely to be fatal to an adult human (sweet almonds only contain a trace of cyanide). https://t.co/0dnmxEqfOO

“This pic was a frame from a little animation I made to show the Porgs under threat from predators. The nest idea was that it was made from rocks, similar to those made by Antarctic Gentoo Penguins.” - concept artist Jake Lunt Davies
