I learned this simple art tip from a friend in high school. All you need to do is draw any flower in 6 steps. The shape of each petal does not need to be perfect. (In case anyone wants to draw these two AK flowers 😉).

I paint by soft shading indivudal portions of lineart and making sure I'm aware that dark shadows and light shadows create distinct parts. If you get this effect it means you can easily paint out the line art later. It's cell shading with extra steps.
