Joining in #ArtVsArtist! What I'm most proud of this year is the work I've done of original characters, as well as more complicated backgrounds. There's 4 different characters of mine here: Dan (top middle), Willa (middle left), Sam (bottom left) and Arthur (bottom right).

Background images I painted for the Dusk's Flight short. My friend Thanh Dang did a few pieces of background styles, which I sampled by hand (Have to clarify this isn't AI bullshit) when I painted the rest of the backgrounds. I learned a lot of new digital painting techniques
#artvsartist2022 Mostly just drawing either Neko or D&D OCs so... not a whole lot of variety. Gonna try to draw full scene things next year instead of just character on simple backgrounds.

Reynolds’s great rival,🇬🇧Thos Gainsborough (1727-1788) loved painting landscapes but the ££ was in portraiture. Thus, his portraits often contain detailed landscape backgrounds. Light, swift, almost swirling brushstrokes are also classic TG.
