Vale Raymond Briggs - feast your eyes, bring into your hearts and minds an unforgettable creator of books for children (and all ages)
After the very sad news of the death of my favourite illustrator and author Raymond Briggs, I’m going to draw more cartoons of Father Christmas. #FatherChristmas
Thank you to Raymond Briggs for some of the first comics strip books I ever read. Delightful and exquisitely melancholy.

Saddened to hear of the death of the great writer illustrator Raymond Briggs. Here is a drawing I did inspired by his delightful picture book, "Father Christmas."
Very sad to hear that Raymond Briggs of many classics including the D+Q book Gentleman Jim has died. RIP https://t.co/7iZDChPpU9

Oh boy, thank you @BBCTwo for Raymond Briggs tribute & #EthelAndErnest. I've not cried so much in ages. 😭😭😭 Powerful, brilliant, emotional, graphic novels are underrated. Still so sad about his death, such a great loss.😢 #RaymondBriggs #Genius
Thursday’s @thetimes cartoon. A tribute to Raymond Briggs and his masterpiece “When the wind blows” https://t.co/PKr0FVAiYO
RIP #RaymondBriggs - one of the best illustrators ever. 😔💚
Thought I'd see how #discodiffusion does when prompted with his inimitable style.
Not bad results... but not a patch on the Master himself.
Humans are definitely better than machines.

R.I.P. Raymond Briggs (1934-2022), a master of the graphic novel for the past half-century, whose blend of mirth and melancholy elevated his stories far beyond kids' stuff.
Don't just read his tragicomic tale of nuclear war, 'When the Wind Blows' (1982); read all his books!
We’re incredibly saddened to hear of the passing of Raymond Briggs. His work was full of life and his stories and illustrations will live on forever. #RIPRaymondBriggs ^KB
RIP Raymond Briggs
One of the first comic book writers and artists I was exposed to as a child. The first one I read was Gentleman Jim, a story about a toilet attendant who becomes a highwayman.
I was sad to hear about the passing of Raymond Briggs today. I loved reading his books especially The Snowman and Fungus the Bogeyman when I was young and of course watching The Snowman. Here is an illustration I did inspired by that magical moment ✨️ #raymondbriggs
Brighty: Another sad loss, which demanded commemoration by pen. Amidst the sadness, this was pure joy to draw. I make no apology for any over-sentimentality, since he was the master of sentimentality #RaymondBriggs - political cartoon gallery in London https://t.co/dePcTdnXF6
