I remember being obsessed with simplicity, breaking down the strokes into an absolute minimum. I remember counting the brushstrokes for the trees, trying to use no more than 7 on each. Each one rehearsed & planned.

To balance the mood and hint at moments of joy in the story, the author suggested I add a warm light contrasting with the dark clouds, which was a great idea. And of course, brushstrokes were a welcome addition!

Don't know why but I'm struggling with getting the brushstrokes that I want, maybe I'm just tired or it's the tablet's fault, but I'm hapii that I'm so close to finishing this little project.
To give the impression of wet shimmering streets, I incorporate metallic paint into my palette, and use fluid brushstrokes and loose, dripped lines.
