It reminds me a lot of people using things like Poser to make comics. There are visuals but they're never going to be original or creative. It's basically bespoke clip art.

Some of the designs arent that appealing to me either but theyre fun and creative. They do a good job at being subtle yet still recognizable and u can tell alot about the character just from their design.
