Flatting complete!
I might be able to hurry and do some shading tonight.
Of course I made things difficult for myself with sunset and moonlight and water and ashes and mist and stuff when I'm not using gradients. 😕

Doing some flatting tests. Honestly, as much as I like CSP's customization, I find freehanding it with shortkeys in Sai takes about the same amount of time.

Is anyone an expert on binary-flatting and trapping lines? Do you even have to do this anymore, given modern printing?

An old commission of puppies I did a few months ago that came out great! Today is a day of redraws/edits, color flatting, sketchbook entries, and reading The Drifting Classroom Complete Vol. 2. Be safe, be well.

I can do painting, illustration or concept art, very good at making monsters, and I have experience doing full art for comics (the whole process including lettering! I'm also interested in doing flatting work)

Flats are just about done!! It’s always hard for me to find interesting crops of my work at this stage—flatting is always the slowest thing for me so I think I just get sick of staring at the same thing for so long 😖 what’s the longest part of making art for you?

Clip Studio Paint users! Did you know that if you use the subview for color palettes, there's a button you can press that'll automatically change the tool to an eyedropper whenever you mouse over the window? So you don't have to keep swapping tools when flatting??

Cuz I DIDN'T!!

Apparently I'm a sloppy inker so I couldn't use the "fill to vector line feature" in CSP w/o additional work. My PS pass is cleaner and took half as long.

CSP flatting is very good for loose styles with unclosed lines! I'll stick with PS for my work~
